If you know of a family with a special needs child, or maybe several, reach out to them this Mother's Day, and every other day of the year. The sense of isolation and frustration can be extreme at times. Just knowing others out there in the world are thinking about them, and care about them can be a tremendous help. So can an offering of ready-to-heat dinners, an afternoon of free babysitting so they can take a time out for themselves, whatever you can do. No judgments, no rationalizations of how it will be better some day, just a sincere friendly offer to be there.
